The WHO

Who do I think I am?

It's a fair question.

I am a puppet master, anyone thinking PM stands for anything else hasn't run enough projects.  There's a decade of XP in my pocket and I've run all sorts of IT projects, from a basic Compute IaaS solution of 2 virtual machines all the way to the Wi-Fi for the London Marathon.

PMs work in the background to deliver fixes and I wanted to show off what I've done, tell future colleagues that I've got the chops and the portfolio to back it, and that I have an immense respect for the job, so here's the website of my work and the pride I've taken in it.

Who am I?  I am Kerry Ager, creator of KA Projects, and I look forward to working with you.

The WHY

Why am I bothered?

Surely by now there are hundreds of PM resources, dozens of places a PM can go for stories and suggestions and blah, blah, blah.  There are.  Do a basic look on LinkedIn for all the 'successful' stories and courses and posts about the things that went so well it glowed.

Despite the sarcasm these aren't bad places to go, honest.  The good outcomes are always the ones we want to shout about and remember.  But I am far more interested in telling you about the risks, the failures and the lessons.

Learning from past mistakes is an essential part of the PM process, no matter the methodology.  I wanted a far more honest approach to PMing, let you see that messing up and making good for the next go round is the only way you'll consistently deliver well, no matter your field.  So I created this site with its resources and information and lists of errors to hopefully give you a rounded education.

And I want to hear about yours too, remind myself we are all human together and that we can learn from one another.  Click the button below and send me your best muck up and if you want it published, I'll add it in.

The how

How Did That Happen?

We are saturated with stories that we are led to believe are true, that mislead a spectator into thinking it's all rosy.  I've already said it isn't, and I want to give you a space to read the ugly bits and how they got sorted.

I can't do what I do each day without a team of peers and a few values I hold near and dear:

  • Integrity

  • Honesty

  • A belting sense of humour

  • Supporting small and/or local

Want to see who makes me brilliant?  Besides my mum, of course...

Francesco's

Gio and his marvellous team of stylists gave me a huge chunk of swagger back.  Michelle has been my stylist for 3 years and didn't shy away from giving me my mohawk.  Fabulous crew all round

Culture:
Roger Seville

Roger is my piano teacher.  Roger has an exceptional gift or teaching, able to rekindle my love for the piano in less than 30 minutes.  If he can teach me, a brick of a human, he can teach anyone!
